This document is a sample of my work that I did with Matthew. This activity as you can tell is called take a picture. It involves creating a narrative using certain characters, settings and props to create a narrative.
In this document, we got a choice of three different ads, and answered particular questions defining the purpose of the advertisement, and what it's about.
This document was one of the book respsonses you can do on "Sssh! I'm reading!"

Hi Angus
While checking the wiki from Hawaii, I noticed that you and Will had written an exciting new ending for the book you have been reading 'Conspiracy 365'. Your version was incredibly exciting and full of action as well as having a great ending. I was most impressed with the editing but particularly the excellent use of talking marks for your direct speech. What a great job you did working independently while I was out of the classroom last week! You worked well together boys!
Mahalo (thank you in Hawaiian)
Pam
(3/9/12) A few weeks ago, we started doing a task on making a quiz including eight questions based on different aspects of the story we were doing it on. We chose a short-listed book called "One small Island", but we won't tell you much more than that if you're doing the quiz!
REFLECTION:
It was a good experience - It required a bit more reading for my group in comparison to others! I've never written a quiz before' though it felt like I had when I was doing the task. Our group finished faster then most of the other groups. It may be because we enjoyed doing the quiz online. At the end, we had to re-do it, because Matt wasn't here and he owned the file! We managed to get it done quickly, still. I could use these skills when I'm in secondary school. Reading Grid Activity - Write a newspaper article
As a book response from the "Ssh! I'm reading!" group, Will and I created a newspaper report on a series we both have read: Conspiracy 365.
Book Trailer Task Your task is to create an eye-catching Book Trailer that will promote your book to other students. Use images, video, animation, music and words to create your book trailer. Try to use copyright friendly sources. Your presentation should be between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. GOAL : To recognise and interpret the main themes of a story by creating a short book trailer which promotes the book. Reflection What did you enjoy most about this task? I enjoyed looking (or listening) for music, because the music was so dramatic, and most of the songs fitted the "dramatic" style. It was definately good fun. What was your biggest challenge? The pictures we originally used were pretty good, but they were copyrighted pictures. That meant we had to replace them with copyright-free pictures, and they didn't work as well as the others.
What skills did you learn during this task? If I tried this activity again, I would do a slightly better job. I now know a bit more about the copyright system, and following a theme.
Reflection (Speaking and Listening) Today we answered a generic question on characters/events or parts of my chosen book.I remembered to stay on track as much as I could, so I did pretty well.
Term 3
Fotobabble
This fotobabble took a dozen tries to get it
right, but I think it was worth it. It's a good
way to help practise oral reading. I think I
was a bit fast at times, though.
